Changes to Approved Progammes

Type 1 Changes and Type 2 Changes and Redevelopment of Programmes

AQC understands the complexity of change applications to NZQA approved programmes as they evolve over delivery and successive cohorts.  We know that your programmes and courses undergo continuous improvements from feedback from stakeholders, programme review and consistency review processes.   Simply put Type 1 changes are at a course level and Type 2 changes are at a programme level.  However, it can be a challenge for organisations to identify exactly what is a Type 1 or Type 2 change, particularly if the accumulative effect of changes may result in the requirement for a redevelopment of a programme with the necessary NZQA approvals.

As non-compliance in this area may lead to NZQA Statutory Actions it is important that you get this process right. Based on our experience and continued successful outcomes for our clients AQC can help you to:

  • Analyse the extent and significance of changes to your programmes and courses so that you are fully informed of NZQA approval requirements for any change notifications (Type 1), change applications(Type 2) and/or redevelopment of programmes.

  • Develop change applications that will meet all NZQA requirements (and if required funding approvals)

  • Assist you in the redevelopment of programmes if required

  • Help you to manage the Requests for Further Information (RFI’s) that are required by NZQA on evaluation of your application(s).

The design of your application(s) will be unique to meet your needs and will be structured around NZQA guidelines for changes to programme approvals and relevant NZQA rules.
